My first post! Yay! I am so excited and nervous y’all. Please leave a comment and let me  know what you think after you read this.

I thought since this is my very first post I would talk about a trip here in Texas, which just happens to be my most recent. My husband and I took a quick weekend trip out to Marble Falls. Marble Falls is this cute little town west of Austin. We love driving down highway 281 from DFW through the hill country. All the small towns and the hill country views make it such a relaxing drive. Once we got into town we immediately had to hit the Bluebonnet Café. They have some amazing pies and great southern comfort food. I’m talking country fried steak y’all. Mmmmhmmm. I had chocolate pie because I’m a straight up chocohaulic. I can’t get enough of the stuff.

After gorging ourselves we decided to walk off some of those well-earned calories. So we moseyed on over to historic Main St. where we found all kinds of hidden treasures. There are so many neat things in these stores! Antiques, beeswax candles, repurposed lamps, sculptures, artwork. The list goes on and on. Plus almost everything was locally made. 🙂 Two of my personal favorites were Marta Stafford Fine Art studio and It’s All Goode. Marta had some truly unique pieces and she was such a lovely hostess to talk to. I especially loved the cow themed paintings by Sandra Stevens.  It’s All Goode is such a fun store to browse through with numerous odd kitchen gadgets. They also make some fantastic fudge! Try the tiger butter, it’s my favorite (although the caramel chocolate sea salt was pretty amazeballs).

The lovely ladies at It’s All Goode recommended us to Save the World Brewing. This company really impressed me y’all!  They are America’s first 100% philanthropic production craft brewery. Husband and wife team, Dave and Quynh Rathkamp, started this company in 2012. Chris and I were lucky enough to meet them. I cannot get over how nice they were and how much they made us feel like part of the family. So we of course had to become True Beerlievers (which is a fancy way of saying we became members).

We met some really cool locals at Save the World Brewing. We had such fun chit chatting that we decided to keep the party going and headed over to Enoteca, a great little wine bar with fantastic brick oven flatbread pizza. I ate almost a whole pizza all by myself… and possibly a bottle of wine lol. Keith and Pam, another husband and wife team, were two of the locals we spent the evening with. They own Jones Jeeps. Chris and I are hoping to make it back out to Marble Falls soon so we can get a Jeep tour with them.

The next day we hit Bluebonnets again. I of course had pie and coffee for breakfast because why not. More pie! Nom nom nom. We wondered around for a bit. Checked out Horseshoe Bay and then headed to On the Rock. Man that place has a great view. Wow. The food was pretty good but the view is definitely what makes this place worth going to. After lunch it was time to head home to the fur babies (we have 2 dogs and a cat). I so love these quick weekend getaways. Now it’s time to plan the next trip!
